My perspective on the shop idea:
If you have a particularly interesting and/or high level spellcomp I'm going to save the gold by throwing on my thief sklev set and shoplifting it from you. I find that mobs are very expensive to purchase from, and I'd much rather have the exp from shoplifting. If I can't get it from the mobthe the peaceful way, I'm going to kill them way before I spend the gold. The only thing I've bought from a mob in the last several months was a piece of mage clev for about 1700 gold. The only reason I bought this is because the mob in question has a spell that deals 6000 damage.

Hi Dennis.

I wasn't thinking of infinite area wilderness, so much as large tracts of wilderness areas rather similar to southern Kordan's forest or the Wyvern forest on archase specifically to be used for xp generating activities like autoquests, hunting and missions, but if your not planning on introducing those into the game that's fair enough, though they would be something I'd
be interested in seeing at some point.

The brotherhood of alchemy was an idea discussed on the list a while ago. I noticed that in the game there are a lot of really interesting sounding spell components some of which have to be got in fairly unique ways, by searching out of the way places, but obviously these are only of use to
certain classes, and it's a little bit of a shame to get a really
interesting sounding item like a mud mushroom or the tears of a dragon, and
have to just sacrifice it.

The brotherhood of alchemy was a suggested npc shop who would reward the player for bringing back spell components, ---- if not with gold or xp, perhaps with specific currency that could be used to buy magical items from
the brotherhood itself such as magical scrolls or spell castings.

this would also give players a use for spell comps, and make exploring and
gathering items a little more purposeful.

Beware the grue!

Dark.
