The corpse retrieval is one at a time and happens the instant you buy it, assuming that your corpse is still out there. The underlying mechanic is that it transports your corpse to you and does a god-level resurrect, so you get back the maximum exp that a resurrect is allowed to return. I've also been thinking about adding a sort of one time pre-death insurance like prayer for the dying, but I don't know how well received that would be.
