Hi Tom.

This was precisely my problem with the anne rice books. I liked some of the ideas and descriptions of different vampires and their habbits, but the concentration on the romantic aspects of vampires was just annoying, ---- indeed the point where I utterly gave up was reading my second novel, the vampire armand where there is a detailed description of how much a six year old boy enjoyed doing you know what with an adult man, ---- who I believe was supposedly a vampire (though really, blood drinking would've been less disturbing).

While I admit I do have something of an over sensativity to that sort of thing in fiction (I had to skip past several passages in the dresden novels), anne rice just went waaaaay! too far for my taste, particularly because as you said yourself, the association of drinking blood and eroticism is just plane weerd anyway!

Beware the grue!

Dark.
