hi Ruchi.
I'm not an if fan myself, sinse i find the puzzles deeply frustrating, but
perhaps your son could also considder playing some brouser based games?
These will let him play with people online, are text based, and will also
give him some experience and practice navigating the internet with his
screen reader (it was playing brouser games that taught me).
If you take a look at www.audiogames.net, and also the list of games to play
online over at www.whitestic.co.u, you can probably find something workable.
in particular, I'd recommend the super hero themed rpg twilight heroes, and
the more general light hearted fantasy rpg Legend of the green dragon, which
also has the advantage of very easy to navigate pages, and thus is a great
way to learn net navigation, (it was how I started).
If your son has a more high fatnasy interest, the game Sryth the age of
igtheon might also appeal.
Also, check out the list of gamebooks, sinse these are like! interactive
fiction, but played in a brouser, and if your son like fantasy would
certainly be worth playing.
As to specific if titles, dreamhold by andrew plotkin, also a good intro to
if, glowgrass, and a simple theft come to mind, though to be perfectly
honest I've rather lost interest in if myself due to too many obscure
puzzles and guess the verb situations.
hth.
Beware the grue!
dark.
