Hi Tom.
Perhaps you could considder sending links to accessible versions of such
programs to tom lorimer webmaster of whitestick.co.uk, to go on his handy vi
related downloads page along with stuff like real alternative and winamp,
sinse I know i'm not the only person who finds pdfs a little
irritating, ---- despite the fact that these days supernova reads the vast
majority of them without a hitch, they still take ages to load and are far
harder to sort through than more standard html or text.
Beware the grue!
Dark.

Hi,
Besides Adobe Reader there are free programs you can download such as
pdftotxt and pdftohtml that do the same thing. Usually it is as simple
as doing pdftohtml Manual.pdf Manual.html to convert it to an html
file and then you can open and read it in your favorite web browser.

Hi Darren.
What I usually do is convert pdfs to plane text. you can do this with the
accessible version of adoby acrobat reader, and I've done it with both
previous smugglers manuals.
there should be a "save as accessible txt" option somewhere in the file
menue if I remember rightly.
all the best,
Dark.
