In addition to what zack said, I'd also recommend closing the trade window
so that you can get a full look at the travel screen with all the listed
prices for the different planets, because the trade window is bang in the
middle of the screen andI've often find it obscures some planets and their
prices.
To do this click on any none essential part of the screen (I usually hit
ctrl down arrow and click on the experience bar at the bottom), and the
trade screen will move but the prices for the selected item stay up, double
click the trade screen again to get it back.
It does say in the manual you should be able to travel around with the trade
window open, but I've always found it's position makes that impossible,
still I found I could trade quite quickly using this method once I was used
to it.
