Playing if games is quite possible on a windows 7 machine, including the infocom classics. you just need an interpreter such as winfrotz or filfre, indeed I'd recommend winfrotz, and then open the files in that and read the screen, it's really no more difficult than using a player like winamp to play specific sorts of music files.
