Hi John.
vipmud doesn't seem to have anything in there, at least not in application
settings or shared documents which is where programs usually store stuff,
that was indeed the first place I checked when darrent mentioned the issue
sinse usually if uninstalling and reinstalling a program doesn't alter
settings it's because there is a folder in aplications settings with them
that needs removing, not in the case of vipmud from what I could gather
though.
Beware the grue!
Dark.

Yes I do remove all the folders but I didn't know about the usability
settings. Where are they in xp?

when you uninstall VIP mud, do you also go and remove the folders from
your program files, and also user settings? because if you do not do
this, when you reinstall, it will simply have all the old data there.

Hi darren.
It strikes me as very odd that you could've completely! broken vip mud,
sinse all you would need to do to restore defaults is delete the star
conquest folder, and maybe the start.set file as well if you did
anything
to
the default settings that can't be restored from options.
the files for the sounds you can just leave be as you wish or delete
from
the sounds folder, but they shouldn't make any difference if you
actually
delete the folders that vipmud creates for each mud with the various
set
files in.
If all this fails, have you considdered just reinstalling vip mud?
though
the license is indeed computer specific, the key will still work on a
reinstall if you haven't changed your hardware, though as I said I'd be
quite surprised if you can't just delete the appropriate files to get
back
to the defaults, (I had to do this with materiamagica on one occasion
myself when I managed to bugger up some settings).

Hi all,
I've seriously managed to mess up vip mud. It's now unusable on my pc.
Basically I tried to install a sound pack for star conquest and it
simply
won't work now.
Using window eyes, what good mud clients are there out there that will
work?
