Well, there are action rpgs... but sadly, unless you're willing to play a
foreign-language game, you're out of luck there. lol

Unfortunately, Entombed is a one of a kind roguelike game. The only
alternative would be online RPG games such as Sryth and muds which are
similar to text based games accept you play them via your mud client.
The game I mention above, 'Sryth, is far and away my favorite online
RPG game because it has a huge amount of content, both free and
commercial, is fully cross-platform, and is pretty close to playing
paper and pen style roll playing games. You create an account, then
create a character, and then basically travel Sryth in search of
adventures and quests which you can undertake to improve your skills

As far as muds goes Alter Aeon is a good choice to start with.
Currently I'm playing it via the Linux telnet client, but you can use
any telnet or mud client you wish. As with text adventure you type
commands in your telnet client such as north, south, east, west,
inventory, etc to interact with the game world. Since muds are
multiuser dungeons you will run into live roll playing characters as
well as plenty of computer controlled A.I. characters. Plus if you use
certain Windows mud clients you can download Alter Aeon sound packs
that adds sounds and music to the adventure making it like an
interactive audio game with a text user interface. :D

Taking a break from learning the new phone upgrade and thought I'd
hunt up a game. I was wondering anyone know of any RPG Entombed type
games? I like Entombed but on my system here it's very unstable and
when it runs I run in to a lot of game bugs, items not able to be
picked up etc.
