No, you only need either the DNS info or the IP address. They both go in the
same field and you don't use both at once, just one or the other. Usually
the DNS, in this case, Moo.squidsoft.net, is sufficient, and the IP address
is only there as a fallback if that doesn't work.
By the way, I've never seen an entry on mudconnector that was missing a port
number, and I've been through hundreds if not thousands of entries.

question. This game info you gave has no TCIP address. Don't I need 3
pieces of info to connect to a MUD? Domain address (the squid part ) the
4 or 5 digit port number, and the TCIP address with all the periods in it
(usually seen on the game pages between brackets?)

I have been playing Alter Aeon for about 5 months now (give or take a
few weeks) and I love the game, but I need a change of pace. Kind of ike
reading a book series and wanting to look into a new genre for a while.
The Battletech: FrontierLands game under the futuristic category on the
mud connect website says that is an active game but I get the error
indicating that the server is offline. I try to connect every hour on
the hour for 10 hours and it is never up and running, so apprently it's
offline. Wish Mud connector could get updated info.
Many of the games listed on the site have IP addresses but no port
numbers of domain name addresses to connect with.
I've taken your advice Dennis T, but my fingers are getting a bit
bruised from repeatedly typing bad connection info into mush z. That,
and my ahir is thinning quite a bit from me pulling it all out.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
