Hello,

At the last #debian-games meeting there was also a short discussion about
global highscore management. There has already been discussion about that on
this mailing list, and there is a wiki page with a recommendation[1]. However,
there is no standard apart from how to properly open a setgid highscore file.

There have also been ideas about a peer-to-peer protocol to share
highscores[2]. But perhaps it is also possible to write a dbus specification
for highscore announcements and queries, so that a dbus listener can manage the
high scores? This would mean games do not have to use setgid permissions
anymore.

Comments?
