Hi, I think that the pep8[1] tool can be added as a target in the Makefile, as it helps catching small uncompliances to the PEP8 style guide. What do you think about it?
I ran pep8 on the devel-2.5 codebase and you can find attached the results. Except for E111 and E501, I think that most of them could be easily fixed if we want to mantain compatibility also with PEP8. Best, Andrea [1] https://github.com/jcrocholl/pep8/
