Hoo boy, who'd have thought it would take so long to make world a couple
times with a couple different compilers on an O2?
My monitoring core CVS checkout is now running on my test box with no
problems. It even reports the MTU metric properly using the code shoveled
from gmond/machines/linux.c ... neat.
That's the only change I made to the code to get it to work this time.
(doesn't even seem worth submitting a patch over it, really... )
I suggest an item in the README noting that IRIX cc is broken as of this
release, and that the workaround is to use gcc instead.
I'll run this for a day (or a weekend?) and let you all know if anything
terrifying happens...
