i just made some big changes to the CVS tree in order to deal with the autoconf, automake, libtool stuff. you'll see that libdotconf and libdnet directories don't exist anymore.

Yaaaaaay!

i've added a file "README.CVSusers" with instructions of how to deal with the CVS source since it doesn't come with your standard "./configure" script (Steve's idea).

Yaaaaaay!

the tarball created by a "make dist" is now half the size of the original. i'm glad that we stripped it down to it's bare necessities.

Yaaaaaay!

i recommend that you do a "cvs update -P" in order to get in step with the new source and directory structure.
the newest versions of autoheader is complaining

so i'll take a look and clean that up (unless someone else beats me to it).

let me know how this works for you. i want to create a release of the monitoring-core soon. do you think it's ready for release?

Most of these changes are "just for us" and people who build from CVS in the first place. Especially with the work being done on gmetad and the PHP front-end, I think it's important to have a monitoring core release out there that supports some of them snazzy new features. I ran last Wednesday's CVS build on my IRIX test box since Thursday and it's still running. Ditto the fileservers. That tells me it's stable enough for a .0 release. :)
