Actually, I have some (uuuuugly) code that looks like it would work for
counting the number of total vs. running processes on a Sun box, but I'd
actually written it to get per-process stats on a Linux box for another
project. One of these days I'll pull that code out and toss it out there
for someone else to mess with (or maybe just use it in Ganglia 3?).
In the interest of fairness, on Solaris you get a lot of metrics which you
WON'T find on Linux... and which you may find very helpful...
