i don't want to force anyone into using a windows box. i had tried most
of my demos on the windows machines and federico tried them using macos x.
the linux support seems subpar. i just installed and ran it and it is
crashing mozilla on my linux box too. disappointing.

PNG fallback seems reasonable until there is better support for linux.
i'm not going to focus on that right now though. i want to firm up the
module API so that the lerking developers out there can start making
useful plugins.
