guys-

i wanted to alarm you that sourceforge cvs is very slow right now so i haven't been able to check in some small changes. i just updated gstat to connect to "localhost" instead of "127.0.0.1" by default in order to correctly handle ipv6 hosts (thanks to a bug report/solution by brooks).

i'm going to drop in the metric.c from apple for darwin as soon as possible ... checkin all the latest changes and build a new snapshot.

based on the feedback that i'm getting... i think we are zeroing in a release ready 2.6.0.

to make the windows users happy out there.. i created a windows installer for the latest 2.6.0 code to install and play with.

http://matt-massie.com/ganglia/ganglia-2.6.0-setup.exe

currently, we only support NT/XP/2K boxes since w95/98/me doesn't really have a concept of services (even though gmond.exe will run on w95/98/me).
