I had no problems building it on multiple Darwin machines.

I just noticed that there is a new build problem under Darwin. When I
start "make" after "configure", it stops immediately:

I have autoheader 2.59 installed via Fink in /sw/bin in my $PATH. I
don't immediately see what the problem is. That step shouldn't even be
necessary, should it?
