At our cluster we have 2 network cards in each machine, 1 for
maintenance/sysadmins, and 1 for production/users.
Gmond monitor's just 1 network and defaults to the first one.
I don't believe it is possible to set up gmond so that it would also
monitor the 2nd interface, is it?
We would like to monitor both networks, and then only multicast it over
the maintenance interface. Would it be possible to add a
"collect_source" option to the collection_group, or a "interface" like
statement for network metric's?
If i take a look at the libmetric source it wouldn't be too hard to
monitor an extra interface, but i think it might require some additional
changes in regard to the metrics structure. Or perhaps give each network
metric a prefix with the interface name to stay compatible?
I don't know just some thoughts, and I'm not very into the source yet.
Anyone else has some idea's or thoughts on this?
I think this might be a interesting new feature for the future.
