hey guys-

i've accepted a position at yahoo beginning july 25th working with the
cluster automation/monitoring and algorithmic search team.

i've spoke with yahoo on many occasions about ganglia and they have
assured that there is no problem continuing work on ganglia (given that
i don't export any proprietary yahoo stuff). easy enough.

i'm not sure how much time i will have to give toward ganglia during my
initial ramp up time at yahoo. i'll be trying to absorb as much
information about the computing/development space there in the beginning
to get up and running asap.

i'm hopeful that some of you might step up and take a more central role
in the ganglia development process. i'm happy to add more admins to the
project in order to grease the wheels so to speak. any feedback,
venting, comments etc are very welcome.

here are some interesting current stats about ganglia...

- it's downloaded about 3000 times per month
- we're currently ranked in the 99.13 percentile on sourceforge
- our page gets about 50,000 hits per month from hundreds of countries

i just want you to know all know your efforts have a real effect. i'm
proud of what we've accomplished.

-matt
