As promised, here's the link to the RPMs built using the openSUSE Build
Service:

http://software.opensuse.org/download/OSCAR/

It's currently built for:

Fedora Core 4 x86
Fedora Core 5 x86
SLES 10 x86, x86_64
SUSE Linux 10.0 x86, x86_64
SUSE Linux 10.1 x86, x86_64

It is _not_ avaialble for Mandriva Linux 2006 (if someone wants to help
me fix it, please email me).

It is also not available for x86_64 for Fedora Core 4, 5, but that's
just a small issue with the Build Service...

Just poke around the directories and you'll find the Ganglia RPMs - you
can also add these repositories to your yum configuration to easily
access them.

I intend to update the RPMs as Martin rolls out updated snapshots.

Note, that this is absolutely code in development so only try it at your
own risk... while I have not tested them, I would really like to know
if they work for you, and if not, will try to fix the issues.

Enjoy!

Bernard

Subject: [Ganglia-general] First Snapshot for 3.0.4

Hi,

after some delay, here comes the first snapshot of 3.0.4. Please
download from:

http://www.knobisoft.de/ganglia/ganglia-3.0.4.200608281641.tar.bz2
http://www.knobisoft.de/ganglia/ganglia-3.0.4.200608281641.tar.gz

It is the first release after moving from CVS to SVN. Changes compared
to 3.0.3 are:

- Fix bz #110 by allowing higher sampling rates for cpu/net/load/mem in
Linux/Cygwin. Likely needs similar changes in other platforms.
- Add Yemis Host-Spoofing patch (bz #99)
- Fix bz #77 (Diskless NFS Root not treated correctly)
- Compile fixes for IRIX (bz #73/79)
- Fix locking problems in gmetad (bz #56)
- Fix incorrect writing of RRDs (bz #105)
- Increases the number of rows in newly created RRAs (bz #33)
- Better handling of bonding interfaces in Linux (bz #102/104)
- Fix for network metrics overrun by Andreas Schoenfeld in AIX
- SVN related cleanups in distribution targets
- Take some of the proposed AIX changes from Micheal Perzl. The real
stuff will come in 3.1.x

With the exception of Host-Spoofing and the higher sampling rates for
Linux/Cygwin all of this is minor bug-fixing. The plan is to relaese
3.0.4 before end of September.

So, non-Linux users please test and give feedback.

3.1 will show updates/cleanups to the whole build system, removal of
the external libraries shipped today (apr, expat, confuse) and likely
the new AIX metrics from Michael Perzl. Target release date for 3.1.0
should be before Xmas.

Cheers
Martin
