when i released ganglia in january 2002, there were 1300 downloads that
month. we're now approaching 150,000 downloads. there are about 1500
public ganglia monitoring grids with over 16,000 public ganglia clusters
and over 80,000 public ganglia host records*. these numbers don't even
include all the private monitoring grids out there!

the ganglia community can be proud of the fact that we've made a mark on
the world. as i write this, ganglia is being/has been used to help
people do some pretty amazing things from science fiction (running on
the star wars rendering clusters) to science fact (running at nasa's
goddard space flight center).

the startup i joined in july of this year is taking monitoring to the
next level in our first product called "Primer Pack". if you visit our
web site, <http://www.archrock.com/>, you'll notice that we support an
array of open-protocols and standards (including ganglia XML :)). our
embedded technology is even based on an open-source operating system
<http://www.tinyos.net>.

if you are interested in learning more about wireless sensor networks,
motes, Primer Pack or ArchRock, please feel free to email/call me at my
work number 415.278.0828 x2843 or visit <http://www.archrock.com/>.

now that Primer Pack is out the door, i should have time soon to help
with our next ganglia release. hope you all have a great weekend!
