Hi Brad: Thanks for testing -- I'll try to build ganglia trunk with a new version of Fedora with apr-1 to see if it works without my mods, thus confirming that they are not necessary if there is only one copy of apr-1 on the system.
Although I guess the python related fixes are necessary to support versions of Python other than 2.4.
