I'm not a Redhat user, but from looking at the json-c package 
requirements I'm not sure I see anything that wouldn't already be 
installed in even the smallest redhat install. Unless you've got some 
specific example of what dependency you are trying to avoid I'd have to 
say this claim is unsupported.
