We could use php-gettext ( https://launchpad.net/php-gettext/ ) , which would not require the gettext extension ( ), which could be implemented like this: http://forum.dwoo.org/viewtopic.php?id=676 I had done something similar in internationalizing FreeMED (which is also written in PHP).
