file as suggested by you and added spoof parameter .

But the issue is still not resolved . Now in the packets received at the
ganglia server end I have 'spoof=true ' but the rrds files are not generated ..

I believe I am able to get all metrics reported to my statsd host(refer statsd

Try presenting spoof as an additional option, with the format "IP:HOSTNAME".
That might do the trick for you.
