Hi,
I am having a ganglia cluster with about 200+ nodes using multicast
configuration and it is been observed that couple of nodes are missing in
the grid hierarchy, and I also check at the rrd location directory but do
not find any thing with respect to the nodes that are missing.
Although I see these nodes are gmond with the configuration that is
matching with the other nodes that are running gmond and have their node
and metrics registered at the ganglia master.
I am not sure, but somehow I remember this similar thing in the past and
changing the data source to another host as got the missing metrics visible
on the master. I am not sure if I need to do the same thing here, I can try.
I do want to note if there is anything at the networking end that needs to
be cross checked for the multicast configuration, that would allow the
metrics of the missing nodes available for the designated data sources of
the grid.
