If you are multicasting, the packets are likely not passed from one subnet to another by the routers. What I do is have a cluster per subnet and have the gmetad collect from each of them:
gridname "clustername" data_source "clustername,10.29.32" 15 host1:port host2:port host3:port data_source "clustername,10.1.0" 15 hostA:port hostB:port But then they appear as 2 clusters under a grid rollup. But actually this is a good thing when each subnet grows to a couple hundred hosts as it naturally breaks the cluster up into manageable chunks that are easier to deal with in the web browser. -- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; I don't speak for Intel or anyone. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Daniel Boone Sent: Friday, May 25, 2007 2:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Ganglia-general] clients on different subnets Hi, I have the following problem: I have 3 nodes in the 10.29.32 subnet and two nodes in the 10.1.0 subnet. The server is in the 10.1.0 subnet. When I start the gmond on the first 3 nodes I can see them, when I start the gmond on the last 2 I cannot see them. But when I restart the gmetad on the server I only see the last two. I just want to see them all in the same datasource. It's like the exclude each other in one or other way Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
