guys-

i've placed the third beta for 2.3.1 on the ganglia web site. can you
give it a try when you have a chance and let me know what you think?

here are the changes...

2002-05-01 Matt Massie
   * Gmond now has a configuration file for its configuration instead of
     passing commandline arguments

2002-04-26 Asaph Zemach
   * Completely rewrote ./gmond/machines/linux.c to be much more efficient
by removing the need for 2 threads and pthread mutexes.

Asaph wrote a much better way to collect data from /proc. Gmond gets its
configuration from a config file instead of commandline options.

See
http://ganglia.sourceforge.net/docs/single_page.html#GMOND-CONF

If it looks good then I'll release it to the masses tomorrow.

2.4.0 will monitor processes spawned using gexec and allow for a cluster
ps, kill, et al.
