I do not put it on the line in /etc/init.d/gmond, but I manully stop and
restart gmond in shell.
I am using 2.4.0. 
From the ChangLog I learn that "Gmond now has a configuration file for its
configuration instead of passing commandline arguments". I wonder if the
error is caused by this change.
