if you are using version 2.4.0, it gets mcast_if from the configuration 
file /etc/gmond.conf (by default).. there is no commandline options 
anymore.

will help you i think.

just put the line
mcast_if eth1
in /etc/gmond.conf and gmond will work as you want it to
