Instead I'd like to see a configuration option to gmond with the
semantics "Hey, gmond, use *this* network interface".
There is a configuration option which is mcast_if (if i am not mistaken)
But for some unknown reason it does not work.
You are absolutely right, that it would be better if it worked, but it
does not.
Besides i do not see any problem in adding and removing multicast route,
because this route is being used by gmond only.
