Hi,
I have installed the ganglia-monitoring-core on 2 machines. A (10.0.0.1) is
running gmond (all_trusted on) and B (10.0.0.2) is running gmetad configured
to ask data_source xyz including host 10.0.0.1. I am using rrdtool-1.0.40.
Telnetting to A:8649 from B works without problems, I get the gmond XML and
the connection gets closed.
The problem which arises is the following:
When starting gmetad, nothing happens at all, no syslog entries nor RRDs get
created.
When trying with debug I get the following:
gmond on A:
sent data to host 10.0.0.2

Trying to connect to 10.0.0.1:8649 for [xyz]

The "dead source - closed connection" part then continues.
No RRDs are created, although "chmod nobody.nogroup /var/lib/ganglia/rrds"
