Hi,

I have downloaded ganglia 2.52 and managed to monitor 600+ Linux nodes
(seperated into 4 clusters due to different network switches)
from a semi-dedicated gmetad server, which also runs apache.

This gmetad server is a dual PIII 1GHz Linux machine (Redhat 7.3) with 512 MB
RAM. Seems to me it is marginally adequate to support
all the current monitoring activities.

We have noticed the memory usages on this gmetad server were mostly consumed by
apache services (each instance of apache process
took ~30MB memory), not by gmetad (only 6KB memory each) itself, so I assume it
is just the matter an under-powered machine. Am I on
the right track here? Or what may be the better way to architect a system like
this? please advice, thanks,

Regards,
