i don't think it will.  you'll turn the machine off to install the new 
memory and ganglia will report the node down.  when the machine comes back 
online the local gmond will begin reporting the new memory information and 
ganglia will stop reporting the host down.  shouldn't be a problem.  let 
me know if it is.. i be really surprised.
