Look at setuid_username in gmond.conf. default is 'nobody'.

I guess there isn't a 'nobody' in /etc/passwd.
Simplest is to add on. othewise pick another userid to run gmond as.

Daniel.

Subject: [Ganglia-general] HPUX init file pb / setuid 'nobody' error

Hi all,

It seems that the init file provided by ganglia (in the source tgz file:
gmond.init) only works with linux system whats the way make it works for
HPUX. On HPUX we don't finf the function "functions" or "daemon".

When I start it by hand (is it correct in English to say that) the following
error occure :

[EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/bin # /usr/sbin/gmond&
[1] 23163
[EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/bin # exiting. setuid 'nobody' error

Any ideas ????
