Try restarting everything...and by everything I mean your gmetad process, and *all* of your gmonds. It seems that if even one gmond remembers it, the old host will never go away. I've gotten into the habit of doing this after pretty much any change I make.
Not certain this will solve your problem, but it's the first thing I would try.
