Hi guys,

My apologies for another question(*) which seems pretty simple - I've
got one machine which serves as the head node for a cluster, and which I
don't want to be included in the data gmetad is plotting for me.

.. Now, when I run gmond on the compute nodes, but not on the head node,
I don't get ANY statistics, but as soon as I boot up gmond on the head
node as well, I get statistics from all of the nodes. Obviously I'm
missing something simple here, but how do I get the gmonds on the compute
nodes to send their data off to the head node?

They are on the same network, except I should point out that the head
node has two NICs, each on different networks - is this somehow causing
confusion?

In short, is there something simple I should specify in gmetad in the
head node in order for it to 'find' the gmonds on the cluster, without
running one locally?

(Currently, it's pretty much a default setup - no real changes to the
.conf files. However, that being said, I've tried everything I can think
of to get it to work - explicitly saying the data_source is the hostname
associated with the IP for the internal, node-based network as well, but
to no avail.)

Thanks.. if more info is needed, I'll happily write more.

  Best wishes,
  - Brian

(*) PS. I fixed my problem with the segfaulting binaries - a kernel
recompile cured that, but I haven't narrowed down exactly what options
caused the error yet. When time permits, I'll get to that.
