Hi There. Interest in the Ganglia monitoring system continues to grow in my organization. The number of monitored hosts increases steadily and we also create custom metrics. One issue I'm trying to address is correctly implementing 'proxy daemons' or how do I write a program that will generate metrics on behalf of other hosts/devices??
Would it be possible to extend gmetric and allow it to accept a hostname or devicename label/alias argument? I mention 'devices' because SNMP monitoring is on the agenda and SNMP devices tend to black box type hardware. ---- Yemi
