Hey.

I've started a new Jakarta commons project for Java benchmarking:

http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/sandbox/benchmark/

The goal is to support simple lightweight runtime benchmarks within Java in a clean and simple API.

The code right now is fully functional and I might be proposing to do a 1.0 release in the next couple weeks.

I'm wondering if anyone's interesting in collaborating on a ganglia plugin to broadcast metrics on the local subnet everytime they are updated. Right now we rollover metrics at 1, 5, an 15 minute intervals. This should ideally broadcast the metrics on the subnet so that running ganglia instances pick them up.

I'd want to do this in 100% java because I don't want to have any requirements and I don't want to exec gmetric.

Thoughts?
