Hi,

I'm trying out ganglia (newest version 3.0.1), i installed the server
software (gmetad), client (gmond) and the accompanying websoftware on a
linux server.

It worked almost out of the box, i could see all the metrics from the
machine.

then i wanted to add a second machine (solaris 9 on x86). I downloaded
the source, compiled it, and ran gmond.

i added the ip adress of this server to the master's gmetad.conf file:
data_source "my cluster" localhost 192.168.2.170
and restarted gmetad.

both machines are in the same subnet (the last machine: 192.168.2.170
has 2 network interfaces, if this does matter).

So this last machine doesn't show up on the web frontend. What now. What
did I do wrong ?

on some howto on the net, they said i should add the hostname of my
master to the gmond.conf file of the client, but i can't see where i
could add this.

Can someone help me out ?

thanks,

Tom.
