Hi,

I just want to know if there is a way to configure ganglia to just access the system resouce information from PBS instead from the gmond sensors on the compute nodes. PBS's pbsnodes commands provide most of the information that ganglia publishes so it will be good if I won't have to install gmond on the compute nodes anymore and just install ganglia on the head node of our cluster.

Is there any other information that ganglia provides that PBS job manager doesn't? Your answer to this question will help me persuade our systems administrator in installing ganglia on our production machine.

The reason why I need ganglia on our production machine is because it can easily interface with MDS which is the resource registry that we will be using in the Australian Grid. There is also a ganglia information provider that I can just easily plug into our system to make it start publishing cluster/system information into the MDS.

Thanks,
Gerson
