Hardian, For displaying localhost u need to run gmond agent on localhost machine and also add it to trusted hosts in gmetad.conf file. One of the ways to remove old names is to restart all gmond and gmetad processes, where the old hosts are flushed by ganglia. Alternatively you can set a timer in gmond.conf file. If you add the line
globals { host_dmax = 3600 } then hosts will be removed from host tables when they haven't been heard from in 3600 seconds. vineet Agarwal. Hi Chang, Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it. Last night, I reinstalled again and it worked. The graphs are showing up now. Apparently, I made a mistake and it took 4 days to realise it. Silly me :p. The problem was, after I installed rrdtool and then I installed ganglia-monitor-core3-0-1.tar.gz.. But then, I installed again ganglia-gmond-3.0.1.rpm and ganglia-gmetad-3.0.1.rpm and ganglia-web-frontend-3.0.1.rpm. While actually, I don't have to do that. All I need to do, just copy the gmond, gmetad and weeb directory which came along with ganglia-monitor-core3.0.1.tar.gz. Because in ganglia monitor core, I have set the path of rrdtool. The graph thing is done, now. But I have one more problem though. Some of the nodes were listed with the old names while I have changed it to a new hostname. Do you know how ganglia could pick up the old hostname? And all nodes are visible but the localhost isn't visible. Do you know how to get the localhost visible? Thank you very much for your time. You need a RRDTool-enabled version of PHP that can create graphics on the fly. Forget what it's called, but on debian at least, it's a seperate package from the normal PHP. Also, I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I installed the XPM-supporting version of RRDTool (as one is distributed on my OS without it). > When I went to my browser and go to localhost/ganglia, I can see my nodes > are active but I couldn't get the graph showing. I have made some changes in The graphs are URLs to PHP scripts - why not look at the URLs of one of them and see if you get a graph. If not, you'll probably get a helpful PHP error message. > Did I miss something during my installation? I have followed every steps > from rrdtool's README file and ganglia's README file. Make sure your RRDTool is compatable with your PHP install. That's my guess. Sorry in advance if it's not helpful. -- ~Mike - Just my two cents - No man is an island, and no man is unable. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Develop ment * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Ganglia-general mailing list Ganglia-general@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ganglia-general ________________________________ Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. <http://store.yahoo.com/redcross-donate3/>
