Your version of GD or libGD or some other library between RRDTool and
PHP (or one of those) may be lacking colour support.  I'm not sure
though; but I myself used Debian, and there, there was more than one
type of (for example) php-gd package (one with xpm, one without).

Someone else have a better idea?
