It does indeed appear to be a bug in the OS. - is "netstat -i" showing counters on the X2100? No. Rather, the lo0 interface is showing counters, but the bge0 interface does not. | - are both "bge0" interfaces exactely the same hardware? I posted a query today and was told that this bug will be fixed within the next few weeks. There is an issue with the bge driver on Solaris for certain hardware revisions.
