Hi, Trying to add a new host into our Ganglia monitoring, but it is not being picked up. I'm not very experienced with Ganglia so please forgive me if I've overlooked something obvious. I looked through the manual pages and the mailing list.
I started gmond as root on the Linux host (RH9) in question, pointed to the same config as the other hosts which are working ok. I verified that I can telnet to this host on port U*N*I*X :-) and I get back the XML string with all the parameters. I then restarted gmetad on the master host to see if that would help, it didn't. I then tried to put the new host first in the list of 'data_source's but that didn't fix it. What else can I try to get this new host picked up? Could this be some kind of IP multi-casting problem? The host in question has IP 147.114.116.90 and the two that work ok are 147.114.212.111 and 147.114.213.32 - perhaps packets from 147.114.212/3 don't get broadcast to 147.114.116 - if so is that a problem? How would I check if that was the case? The host running gmetad is on 147.114.116.125 which doesn't support this idea, as it's on the same subnet as the missing host.
