thanks again for your help! Yes, the servers are on the same network,
and Friday evening I managed to install a new gmetad+web front-end on
another machine (out of production environment) and with some tweaks to
gmetad.conf (I added every single machine with gmond in the proper
data_source entries - on the production server there's just one server
per data_source, and until I tried to add the IBM servers it was
displaying everithing correctly) it now works ok.
Today I'm going to test the same configuration tweaks on the production
gmetad server, I hope it works as well.

There are still some problems in showing up the machine in the web

up without further configuration, this one (the p650) is still missing.
As I said before, the gmond.conf are the same on both IBMs. Gmond is
working, since I get the correct output when doing "telnet hostname 8649".

The same binary runs ok on an IBM p630 with the same os level, the
gmond.conf file is in /etc and it's the same on both servers.
Can anyone tell me what's happening, or what I'm missing?
