Dear Martin,
After untarring the ganglia source archive, I get into the created
directory and issue:
1) find . -name "config.cache"
I get no result so no file can be removed
2) gmake distclean
I get this: "gmake: *** No rule to make target `distclean'. Stop."
Which seems normal to me since there is no Makefile yet
So in the end, here are the two things I must do to be able to compile
ganglia on my Irix machine :
1) add the following line into srclib/libmetrics/irix/metrics.c
#include <fcntl.h>
2) remove the reference to config.cache for expat, apr and libconfuse in
'configure', so I have:
cd srclib/expat && ./configure --cache-file=$ganglia_popdir/config.cache
that becomes
cd srclib/expat && ./configure
cd srclib/apr && ./configure --cache-file=$ganglia_popdir/config.cache
that becomes
cd srclib/apr && ./configure
cd srclib/confuse && ./configure --cache-file=
$ganglia_popdir/config.cache --disable-nls
that becomes
cd srclib/confuse && ./configure --disable-nls
And from then I am able to cleanly configure and gmake...
Thanks again for your help,
Luc
