Thanks Brooks and Alex,

I believe tarring up the directory looks like a simple enough solution.

Thanks for the help!

I've got a FreeBSD script to do this, but it's way overkill for just
doing a backup and restore (it's designed to recover from crashes while
writing and to spend the least amount of time from start to finish since
I run it out of cron). All you need to do is tar or zip or a plain copy.

Adam,

You simply need to backup all the directory containing Ganglia's RRDs.

There's a script that ships with one of the BSDs that does this, but I
don't have the link for it lying around. Maybe someone here could post
it? (it should be in the archives either way).

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to backup and restore my ganglia
history for my cluster. I'm currently running Rocks 3.3 and plan on
doing a re-install to Rocks 4.1. However I want to preserve all my
Ganglia history.

Has any successfully achieved this?

thanks,

adam
