Okay, I think I may have confused the issue a bit so I"m going to start
over. Here's what I have:
1 DELL Quad Processor to be used as Web interface for ganglia only!
4 SGI ALTIX boxes that will be monitored with Ganglia and (hopefully)
reporting the monitoring data to the Dell server.
For example:
Web Server
| | | |
Altix 350 Altix 350 Altix 3700 Altix 3700
I don't really want the Web Server to be monitored unless necessary.
Right now, I have each Altix box separate from the others, but the plan
is to cluster them together with LSF in the next year or so, however, in
order to placate some of our customers, we have to leave as is for now.
So I want each Altix to run gmond and have the Web Server running
gmetad get the results and dump into the web interface.
However, this isn't what I'm getting at present. I have the 2 350s
showing up as separate 'Sources' in the web interface, but when I start
gmond on the 2 3700s they are reported as nodes of one of the 350s and
that's not what I want.
I've changed the udp_send_channel to point to the web server, but that's
not fixed it. So, now I'm really confused. How do I need to set this
up to make it work?
